Sandy B – Student Night

Is it universally understood that your immediate environment influences your daily actions and thoughts or do I just feel like nobody actually sees that? Something so obvious that is absolutely not an easy fix, but simply a form of awareness that could possibly change the way we present ourselves to the world, to our peers.

I’m sitting here with too many words, drinking cold coffee from hours ago and attempting to sell myself to various publications but not feeling confident enough. Is that because of my personal surroundings?

This city is toxic, but what isn’t? Even self-awareness has its limits and can be faulty or pointless because what’s awareness if you’re not willing to do anything about it.

I could sit here and write all day but go absolutely nowhere. Music takes me out of that space and places me in a different world. It’s the reset button I think we’re all looking for but fail to remember it’s in front of us at all times. It allows us to fully immerse ourselves in the mind of someone else and forget all our useless troubles and immobile actions.

Sandy B saved my life for a few days and here’s to passing the metaphorical baton onto anyone who’s had their arm outstretched but hasn’t realized it.

Definitely read more about this reissue on Invisible City Editions bandcamp or website, but until then just take a minute, listen to this song, and sit with yourself.
